1 Million Cups Albany is back for 2019, with the first meeting set for next Wednesday, February 20th, from 8-9 am at IgniteU in Troy!
They have 4 new sponsoring partners for 2019 (see below) which will host the monthly meetings on a rotational basis. This month we will be hearing from two entrepreneurs, with interesting ideas and solutions to major problems in completely different industries.
First up is Joseph Jacobs from AltruisTech with his first product called AfterReach, aimed at supporting those who have recently lost a loved one. When someone experiences a loss, the desire to help them is universal. We say, "Let me know how I can help," attend a service, send flowers, and sign the book. But Joseph believes this is when people need the most support and has mapped out a solution for funeral directors.
Next is an experienced restauranteur from Troy, Heidi Knoblauch. She's working on her next venture called ReceiptHQ, a result of a huge problem she identified in the restaurant industry - paper receipts. Restaurants that use paper receipts have to keep them for at least 18 months in order to combat chargebacks. Storing receipts ends up being expensive and inefficient. The ReceiptHQ solution provides restaurant owners with easy access and insights to their customer data.
We look forward to seeing you February 13th, staring am 8 am at IgniteU on 333 Broadway, 3rd Floor, in Troy (street parking available right in front).
