International Women’s Day is marked on March 8th every year. In different regions, the focus of celebrations ranges from general respect and appreciation toward women to a celebration of women’s economic, political, and social achievements. This day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. International Women’s Day has occurred for over a century, with the first IWD run by the Suffragettes in 1911.

New York Business Plan Competition Capital Region Semi-Finals 2019

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

  • Six categories: Agtech & Food, Energy & Environment, Military & First Responder, Medtech & Well-Being, Technology & Entertainment, and Consumer Products & Services

  • Since 2010, more than 2,500 students have participated in the NYBPC, more than 100 businesses have been started, and the NYBPC has seeded over $1M yielding over $20M in additional funding for these companies

  • The winners will move on to the state-wide finals on April 26th and will compete with other regions throughout the state for cash prizes

  • Deadline to apply for the Capital Region Semi-Finals is March 30th

  • All majors welcome

This 12-week course in Front-End Web Development is structured around tutorials, assignments, and individual and group projects to give students hands-on practice building the pieces of code that determine how an online experience feels, and connect the user experience into the data-crunching processes of the back end.  Through lecture and individual assignments, students will establish solid foundations in key tools of front end developers: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, JavaScript/jQuery, and collaborative workplace/version control tool Github.
